E1 Code received, ordered new thermistor part number 8577274. Took out old thermistor and it looks nothing like the new part. Part number on the old one is Whirlpool P/N 3976615. Old one mostly plastic, new one mostly metal. Holes don't line up.

Whirlpool has replaced part number 3976615 with part number 8577274. Make sure this part number is marked on the new part.
