My top load washer fills with water and goes through the wash cycle. It will not spin unless the lid is lifted and closed again. Sometimes several attempts.

I suspect this is a faulty switch contoled by the lid or cover.

How do I lift the top of the washer to replace this switch?

need HELP quick.

If it does drain but would not spin unless you open and close the lid, then the problem is a bad timer. There is a neutral stop transmission in this washer and the timer has to pause for a few seconds to switch the transmission from drain to spin.
