The fan in top freezer is making a high pitched noise. It runs but every 30 seconds or so, it like stops makes a high pitch noise then continues to run. Maybe I should just replace it.

Yes I would replace it before it stops completely and you loose some of the food, Item 6 in Section 2.
Also the unit will run more efficiently if the fan is circulating the air properly.
