This washer made by Whirlpool for Sears and sold under Kenmore name. You may want to check the lid switch first. - The lid switch Part number: AP3100003 Gene.

You do not need any diagrams to check the lid switch. Just close the lid and if the switch would not click - this is the culprit. In case of any further questions post the complete model number of the washer. Gene.
