Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 5/3/2010(UTC) Posts: 3		My Kenmore Elite Oasis HE washer is making a grinding sound during the spin cycle, under the tub. Water is being pumped out and the basket/tub is spinning. It is direct drive and I wonder if a bearing or motor issue is the problem? Anybody have diagrams/directions on how to remove the motor and stator unit, and any ideas on what might be the problem? Any help would be great; Gene are you available? Thanks everybody.

I took the back off and felt the pumps while it was making the noise. The discharge pump was vibrating badly while it was in use. I took the pump off the tub and ran it while it was dry and it almost jumped out of my hand. I am going to try a replacement pump and will post the result
