My washer will fill up with water,pump it out,but never agitate or spin. You can spin the drum by hand & spin the belt by hand freely. I replaced the lid switch already because while all this was happening it didn't shut off when you lift the lid. That made no difference either. Still makes humming noise lid open or closed. What could it be?

Great information & super reliable help. I'm sorry to say I found my cure browsing your site before you got back to me but that's okay...it's the same one you emailed me. This is a fantastic site for us home owners who cannot afford a repair man all the time.
