My Maytag washer (MAVT236AWW) very noisy at washing cycle. It OK at spining cycle. Please help:confused:

Lift the washer up from the front, remove the belt and check how freely the pump pulley is moving. Most likely the problem is a bad pump bearing. - The part number for the pump is AP3873289 Gene.

How freely pump pulley moving? Not that much. So I have to replace the pump ? Or............

Faulty pump bearing is one of most common problem with this washer. I believe replacing the pump should solve the problem.

how can I access to the pump? from bottom or side of the washer?

Remove the rear access panel. If it would not help then remove the front panel.

I replaced the pump. The washer still noisy. The sound like metallic sound. :(
