I just pd a guy $75.00 to check my dryer. Final determination is the heating element is bad. He showed me & a wire on 1 of the coils is broken. The local store he gets it from wants $89.99 & then wants another $40.00 from me to put it in. I found I can order the same part on line for $41.00. There only seems to be one plug on the part # AP3094254 & I'm wondering if theres any danger to me getting the part & installing it myself & yes I do know to unplug the unit before servicing. Is there anything that can go wrong or should I save $90.00 & do it myself?

This is one of the easiest repairs, in part because Whirlpool made it easy. With the dryer unplugged, take off the back and disconnect the heating element and the thermostat that should be attached to it. Take out the screws that hold it on, replace everything and reconnect it and you should be all set.
