This ice maker runs but doesn't drop any ice or very very little.....I called Kitchenaid which I understand Whirlpool owns and was told that there was a quality problem with the water valve.......Can anyone tell me if this would cause the problem with the ice supply?.......Thanks

The service man installed a new water valve which didn't leak. The problem was in the water valve solenoid which wasn’t regulating the water flow to the ice freezing compartment correctly. The water in the reservoir wasn’t getting cold enough before being pumped into the freezing compartment.
