Ok guys.... get the tissues ready cause this on is gonna make you cry! (God knows I've been cryin' all day today)
I have a GE Profile PSH23SGPABS, yesterday I awoke to find it getting warm and nothing running. The lights come on, the temp control is lit. I called the only reputable repair co. in the area and it would be tuesday before anyone could get here.
Over the phone I described my problem and the guy said "prolly the circuit board"
Not wanting to spend $200+ on a guess I called on another company that had rave online reviews and to my surprise he said he could be here within the hour. he gets here, looks behind the panel and cusses GE, says that it's gonna be the PCM, a leak, or the condenser relay. He then apologizes for having to charge a service call but his boss makes him do it, takes his 50 bucks and leaves me no better off than i began.
So, long sad story short, I replaced the circuit board, plug for plug, just like the old one, now the evaporator fan will run, and the condenser fan will run but the compressor will not.
I really would appreciate any guidance you guys could give me, I'm at wit's end and out $268 that I didn't have in the 1st place.
Thanks, WG

UPDATE: Ok... I popped the cover off the compressor to test the windings. I get 10.2 Ohms btwn the comm-run and 9.9 btwn the comm-start. I checked the voltage on the plug coming out of the inverter and btwn the comm-run I get .303V and comm to start I get .276V on the "2" scale setting so is my inverter shot?
Sorry if I get some of the terminology wrong... just a knuckle-head w/ a multimeter
