Hi guys,

Our dryer has been working fine. At least til today.

Wife turned on the dryer. It ran for maybe 5 minutes, if that long. Then it just shut off and will not start again. It was not on long enough to even get hot.

The 30 amp breaker was not tripped. But I did go ahead and turn off breaker and turn it back on. Still nothing. Absolutely nothing. No smells, no humming sounds, or anything. I am able to spin the barrell by hand with no problem. (Not sure if that helps or not....... just trying to be as detailed as possible)

Could someone please lead me in the right direction, as to where to start with diagnostics / repairing this machine? I know its a little outta date and I probably should just replace with newer more effecient model, but right now I need to escape this with the cheapest route.

Any & All Help Is Greatly Appreciated....... Thanks!

never mind........... I got it now...... I read a few other post here, where people kept referring to the Dryer Thermal Fuse located down by the blower. I check it out..... at nothing. So I decided to bypass it for temp. I removed the thermal fuse and connected the two wires together, with plenty of electrical tape, making sure there will be no grounding out with chassis or any other areas of the dryer. All is working great now! I will check with my local dealer tomorrow and get me a new thermal fuse.

By the way, Is it ok to run the dryer without this fuse, for a couple of days, if needed til the part received. I am just thinking that the part may actually have to be ordered, but I am not sure??

Thanks,

BMuLL
