stopped using the unit a few weeks ago .
took apart the screws at the bottom put fingers in pulled out hair & gunk, still washes but stays full just below door open level with dirty water .
read up on similar problems could be the Piston & nut assembly for check valve?? is there any other thing i could check?
gsd5200g00w i wrote it down gsd5208g00ww but i think i was wrong .
i will look in the drain hose see i i can tell its plugged (thought these units self garberate the water before exiting?).

Hi Paul,

There are the parts which you have to check:

The piston & nut assembly, the drain hose for a clog and/or twist or bend, the air gap (on top of the sink) for a clog, the check valve for a clog, the drain pump motor, the drain pump flapper and the drain pump for a clog.

To check most of these parts the dishwasher has to be removed from the cabinet.

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE dishwasher Model GSD5200G00WW

Gene.
