My washer do the wash cycle complete and darin out all the water, but after that it have to stop to star spin cycle. The problem is the it don't stop. I replace the timmer with a new one and the problem still exist. Some body have and idea. How the timmer "knows" the its no water in the machine. Please help

It does not spin at all or it does it after main wash or rinse?

What is the part number of the new timer?

It just spin if I stop it manually, for example if I open the door or if I disconnet it from wall oulet. The timmer part number is 3951703. I bougth it here in ApplianceParts Pros, using the model and part number to be sure.

It is very unusual but it sounds like the problem is a bad motor start switch. The part is expensive and I would ask our experts to look into this problem.

Here is a reply I received from sidfink43:

When he stops the motor by mimicking the pause that the timer should be making, the transmission drops into spin mode and things work as they should.

My position is then that it can only be the timer, both the old one and the replacement timer, because the timer is mechanically programmed to stop the motor after a pre-set time operating the neutral drain. Since he can manually interrupt the drain cycle, and then have the machine move to spin we know the neutral drain mechanism works. It just seems the only problem must be in the timer.

My feeling is for him to return the timer to APP and get a replacement...


I agreed with it and recommend to talk to the APP team. Post the results.

Hi Gene and sidfink43. You´re completely right. That´s my mother washer and you know how mothers are:rolleyes: . She intended that the washer star the spin cycle immediately it pull out the water. So the problem was the old timmer, but thanks a lot because I check the motor switch and it looked like some “technician” tried to repair it. I change it too and the washer is work perfect. You really know what you are doing.:)
