I was all set to replace the igniter board and had called Sears to get the part, but they were out of stock and I didn't want to wait. So I called an appliance store in town and asked for the board. They guy said he knew the stove and it was the gas valve. I questioned the idea and did not understand why that would affect both the oven and broiler. He said he'd sell me what I wanted and then I could come back for the valve in a joking manner. He suggested I check the continuity of the valve. I looked up some info and found a post somewhere about the valve and the 220 ohm resistance between connectors. It also mentioned that the igniter board would not work if either connection was bad. I would have never checked it if it weren't for the guy at the parts store, he was really knowledgeable. Sorry it cost you so much, I guess you can always sell the extra parts.
