Hi everyone. We have an old (probably 1970s model) GE Electric oven. The bottom heating element broke, so we tracked down the replacement part and reinstalled it ourselves. That seemed to go okay. But when we turned the breaker back on and turned the dial to heat the oven, we had an audible pop and a visible flash through the window of the oven. We turned off the oven and the breaker again. Nothing seems to have burned out in the oven, but we're concerned as to what we might have done wrong and wonder why it isn't working. We're probably going to call a professional repairman at this point, any ideas or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
