Is the heating element in this model difficult to replace??

Depends what you mean by difficult.

Would probably be best to pull the unit out from under the counter so the connections are easier to get at.
Also would be a good idea to replace the grommet, I think it is part 109 in the breakdown.

Do not over tighten the element nuts when installing it.
