Our unit started smoking. It smelled like burning plastic.I took the unit out and found a scorched control board.I found evidence of corrosion on one of the wires housed within one of the plugs.Could this corrosion be the cause of the board shorting out? There was no evidence of "live" moisture other than the green corrosion on one wire.Should I change the wiring harness as well?I replaced the control and the unit runs fine now but I want to head off any future problems.Shouldn't a dishwasher have better moisture control for the circuitry? It's a fully integrated door,so there are not a lot of entry points for water.

1) Yes, it is possible.

2) I believe a new wire terminals will be enough.
