Hello, I have a 2.5 year old Jenn-Air JFGS8850BDS. Recently I noticed that neither of the two timers on the control pad work. In the past when I pressed “TIMER1” or “TIMER2” I’d hear a beep and the amber timer digits would display on the panel. Now when I press “TIMER1” or “TIMER2” I get no beep and no display of the timer digits on the control panel display. I have cycled power to the stove and that did not help. All other functions/display of the control panel work fine. Thanks, -Kamil

Kamil,
Very likely the problem is a bad keys on the key panel. The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it.
Gene.

Hi Gene,
It's odd that only two keys would go out, each one for the timer. The model number is JGS8850BDS (sorry). I looked into it some more, looks like the control pad and display is a single unit and a single part number.
Thanks!
-Kamil

Kamil, The control board and the control (key) panel in this model are two separate parts and are sold separate. The control panel has a ribbon cable which plugs into the control board. Before you order the new control panel, take it apart and clean the edge of the ribbon cable with a pencil eraser. Reconnect and give it a try. - The control panel Part number: AP4363991

Gene,
Before I do that I should mention that codes EE-214 and M-214 were displayed after power-cycling. What do these codes indicate?
Thanks, -Kamil

Thanks, -Kamil As you can see in the Service manual (pages 13 & 23) there are no such fault codes listed for this range. Gene.

Gene, After futher talks w/ Jenn-Air, they decided to do a good will repair on my stove. The tech came, cleaned the connections 9he reached the same conclusion as you) but it did not help. New control panel was ordered. The tech said that it was very odd to see just one feature of the control panel not work as usually the whole unit fails. Thank you for your help. -K
