I replaced the water inlet valve and cleaned the float mechanism inside the tub. I disconected the float switch and held the wires together and it still will not fill. When I replaced the water inlet valve I tested the water supply line and it is live. Does any one have any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Yes there is water at the fill valve. Is there a brain or a computer that would prevent the fill valve from doing it's job?

The machine starts and there is noise and action but no water. Could that be a malfunction with the control panel?

are you getting 110 volts to float switch? if not it sound like board ,check to see power from board also.if there is power . check for continuity in wire from board to fl. switch, to see there is no break in wire.
