I have read a ton about the defrost process. I found that I can force defrost mode by toggling the light switch 5 times in 6 seconds. And the evaporator heater works great (the burn on my finger being proof). Since my fridge uses a bimetal thermostat, and doesn't have a timer, but a control board (I believe). Does the fact that it goes into defrost inidicate the bimetal thermostat is okay? I tried to take it out to check it w/ meter, but cant get the pins out of the plug, so I'm leary of damaging it if its working perfectly. Any help / advice is greatly appreciated.

I haven't replaced the adaptive defrost control yet - should I get the thermostat defrost now as well? Maybe forcing it made it go bad? Help?

help! I replaced the adaptive defrost timer per your suggestion. When I plugged it in, it heated the coils immediately. I thought my fridge was going to be great! So I didn't check it but 6 days later, it was warm in the fridge side and I opened the freezer side to see a ton of frost. Now when I click the switch to try and force it, it won't force it. Any ideas? Could it possibly be the wiring harness? This fridge is only 2 years old and looks brand new! Thanks!
