Ice maker will not fill with water. I would like to test it by manually initiating a harvest cycle. Is this possible with this new style GE ice maker?

This ice maker has a self diagnosis future.
If the ice maker is "on" and the green LED stays "on" and not blinking then the problem is outside the ice maker. Most likely the water inlet valve is bad.
If the green LED is blinking then the ice maker has to be replaced.
