Dryer tumbles but no heat. I have checked the power and the 240V are present...so its not the circuits. Since it is getting up there in years (Jan 1996), I don't want to put alot of money in it, but I would like to try the thermal fuse (as that is relatively cheap) before I buy a new dryer. After looking at the website, I am thinking of the part no. Fuse, thermal Part Number: AP175068 made by MAYTAG Questions: 1) is the correct part number to TRY for this problem 2) are there any instructions anywhere to help in this replacement if this is the correct part to try 3) or at this point should I just be looking at a new dryer?

Here is the pt number i found by your model number on this site..AP3992758 you may want to check if for continuity as well as the heater itself before buying parts ... remove the 2 lower screws at bottom cover and the heater assy is to the rear left side... 2 5/16 screws hold the assy in ..
