The burner on my Kenmore gas dryer lights and burns for 5 minutes, but then shuts off. After that, every 30 seconds or so, the igniter glows for a few seconds, but then goes out without lighting. I've done successful resistance tests on the the two solenoids, operating thermostat, and all the limit switches. Please help!

Just had the same problem on my GE gas dryer. Even though the coils checked out initially, seems they fail later in the cycle. I replaced both coils today and the dryer works fine now.

Turns out it was the 2-prong main coil. Replaced it for $13, and it's working again.

Awesome. I would have replaced the other coil at the same time also.
