I have an antique (1953) Frigidaire electric stove/range model RS-38, and the large 8" cooking coil/element starts to heat up on high temp setting, but then peeters out and starts to cool down before it reaches proper temp. Does anyone know if this sounds like the element went bad? Or is the switch at fault? And if you're not sure, how should I test for this? Does anyone know what the resistance values should be for an 8" coiled cooking element like this? It's a 3-wire plus ground wire hook-up. Thank you!
