Here are your parts
Replacement parts for A506 models | AppliancePartsPros.com

Looks like a standard fill valve which does not have a sensor.
Note that I could not confirm this as I cannot find a wiring diagram.

What is the problem?

The problem is that I have to manually turn the cold water on and off to fill the tub with water or stop it from overfilling.

Thanking you

Yes if the only way to shut the water off is by shutting off the tap then you need a new valve assembly. A valve is stuck open.

If you can shut it off by just unplugging the machine then your problem is elsewhere. This could be the timer or more likely a problem with the water level switch.
