Hi:

I cleaned my LP gasMaytag oven last night and now there is nothing reading on the control pad and none of the touch buttons work. What is wrong and how do I fix it? The stove burners & igniters for same, light in the oven work fine. Have already tried turning the power off to the stove but that did nothing for the control pad. Occasionally the time comes up, flashing 12:00 but when I hit any of the touch pads, 12:00 disappears. Have also tried holding down both the clock pad and the cancel pad at the same time for 5 seconds as recommended by the guy at the Maytag service centre but that did nothing either.

Marg,

Most likely the problem is a bad control board (aka a clock).

Hi,

Did replacing the Control panel work? I have the same situation and get a little nervous about such expensive parts.
Thanks
Ryan

Hi Ryan:

As it turned out, it's a loose wire somewhere in the wiring of the stove, not the control panel itself that is the problem. Discovered this when we moved the stove a little bit and up popped the control panel display! Have no idea where the wiring is loose as we're just keeping our fingers crossed that it continues to work as a repair guy wanted a small fortune to come out to our place in the country to try to find which wire it is. If it gives up the ghost again, we'll have to get someone out here but in the meantime, we're just using the stove and trying not to jar it!!

Best of Luck with yours,

Marg

So kicking it might work after all.
Thanks,
