How much residual water is normal inside the washer after it has completed all cycles? After removing clothes from the washer, I spun the barrel and it sound as if there is a significant amount of water still in the tub. Do I need to replace the drain motor? Or is there something else I need to be looking for?

The noise you hear is probably the solution of calcium chloride in the balance ring located on the front of the spin basket assembly. That is a normal sound. See section 7-3 of the manual for your washer.
