Came home and found the laundry room flooded. Water was coming out of the door on the Whirlpool Duet washer. Washer was off, not in use. Shut off water to washer using valves to stop water leak. It would appear to me that the internal water off/on valve must have failed OPEN. Anyone see this before?

Yes, it can happen.
If you unplug the unit and it continues to pour out you have to replace the water inlet valves.
If unplugging it stops the water then there is an electrical problem in the unit re: the valves are getting power when they should be shut off. |
