I have a Maytag MVWX500XW1, top load washer, which recently started making a very loud noise only while spinning. It also doesn't seem to brake to stop spinning (don't know if that is a thing) - meaning when it is done it slowly comes to a stop. I replaced the belt and splutch kit. Forums about other models talk about replacing bearings - but I don't see that on this model's part list. Anyone have other ideas?

First change the brakes, then I had the same problem on my AMANA MOD. NAV5805AWW on spin cycle only it had a real loud noise, after talking to a tec. he said that the loud noise was the TUB SEAL which has bearing on it and use a spanner wrench. After installing the new TUB SEAL the noise went completely away. Did you speak with a TEc. also very important. I hope this help you.
