I have a Jenn-Air JDB1105AWS - it won't start from the start button. This has happened a couple times in the past 10 years, each time unplugging the unit and plugging it back in fixed it. Maybe 3 times it's occurred, each time after a brown out. This time it didn't reset. I tried the various button combinations that are supposed to reset it (some of which seem to initiate a short cycle on the washer). Nothing worked. Initially I suspected based on the various messages around that the control panel needed to be replaced. BUT.... I discovered that if I faked the unit into thinking the door was closed by shoving a binder clip into the door latch receiver, the buttons worked and I could initiate a cycle. If I pulled the binder clip out it thought I just momentarily opened the door and paused the cycle, and resumed when I closed the door. So based on that I replaced the door latch receiver plus micro switches... And the unit continues the same behavior. Is it likely the more expensive control panel? Could it be something else at this point? Thanks! Edited by user Tuesday, March 19, 2019 7:15:48 AM(UTC)

If the door is squeezed closed at the latch area, does it allow the dishwasher to operate? If it does, this can indicate that something is preventing the door from closing fully and engaging the latch with the strike. This could be caused by dishes sticking out and pressing on the door, an unlevel dishwasher, the strike being slightly bent or loose, or even debris under the door inside of the dishwasher.
