I really need help! My washer stopped agitating/spinning. It sounded like it was grinding gears. When I manually spin the agitator, the entire tub spins. The agitator will only turn counter-clockwise. The middle rod or center post will not move, it seems to be "frozen". I was removed the agitator. The little dog-aits appear ok but I have ordered replacements. When I tried to turn the center rod with pliers, it did not turn, but the entire inner basket moved. I can not find a repair video or any written repairs that specifically tells what the problem is. Where the center rod is, the area looks corroded. ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED!

Have you checked the drive coupling between the motor and gearcase? Its a common failure and fairly easy to repair. The other possibility is a bad gearcase. Lets hope not.

There is a video that might help.
