maytag gas dryer initially was running hot but worked. then began to heat only intermitently and now runs continuously but applies no heat at all. drum spins. igniter does not glow and there is no flame. dryer spins and wont shut off. the thermostats, all switches and sensors test out ok. there is no clog in the vent system. cleaned off the motor centrifugal switch contacts. still without change.what can be wrong here?

Do you have 120 VAC at the igniter? If not you need to work back through it to find what is stopping the voltage.
