Hello -
My Gas Dryer will Ignite and run hot for approx 5 mins, then after it turns off, presumably to maintain temp it will not re-ignite. The Ignitor illuminates bright orange, but will not again ignite. The gas valve will make a small grumbling sound, but will only make this noise on the attempted restart. It does Not make this noise on initial startup. I checked the coils for continuity and they are OK. Can it be the valve itself? The fact that it is making this noise makes me think so. I have a pair of mechanic stethescope and the noise is definitely coming from the valve. I also checked the Thermal fuse, Ignitor, flame sensor, Hi-limit thermostat and cycling thermostat and they all have continuity. I also made sure they cut off at the correct temp using a hot plate and circuit tester. And, yes I also cleaned out the vent.

If I wait 10 minutes or so, I can repeat the whole process over.
Starts initially, but then no restart.

Thoughts?:confused::confused::confused:

Thanks!!:):):)

Just an update if anyone is interested.
I changed the Gas Valve Coils and that did the trick!
Well worth the $16.00
Working again

Good job! Nothing quite like doing it yourself.
