I have a Sears Kenmore Direct Drive washer.. When it spins, the drum hits the side of the machine as if the load is unbalanced, but i have checked and it is not. Any ideas as to why it is doing this

To begin I'm sorry to tell you that you do not have a direct drive machine. The tell tale sign of this is that you have 6 (six) led lights below the timer knob.

You problem is very common in that the suspension rods have failed.
