I had the same issue for a customer. Water leaked into the control panel for the meat drawer. Flooded it and corroded the board. Repair in my case is to replace the control panel on the meat drawer. Part w10507243, and Repair the corroded wire

A Huge thank you to all. Found the wire harness behind the drawer. As in earlier posts, Black wire was broke, Green was holding on by one or two strands. Clamped the protective sleeve behind the breaks, stripped the wires back, butt connectors, shrink tubing, reassembled, all works lovely. You folks saved me almost one hundred thousand dollars. Thanks again.

After a several weeks of trying things and calling different repair companies who didn’t have availability to come out I found this page and omg unplugged the stupid door and so far it works great but when plugged back in it stops working. Not sure what part needs fixed but I have a functional fridge, ice and water! The door open alarm was making my lab panic because she hates beeps and of course I have kids who kept opening that drawer gahhh

June 22, 2024 - I had the same issue. KitchenAid Fridge Model: KRMF606ESS01

Yesterday morning, all of a sudden - No lights / No ice / No water / Red light on / Beeping that the pantry door was open even though it was closed.

As suggested above, I removed the plug from behind the left pantry drawer and voila, everything was working (except the pantry drawer cooling selection - and I was OK with that).

The next day I decided to see if it was a broken wire issue. I removed the left pantry drawer, undid the support tape in a few places and pushed back the flexible grey mess cover. And holey crap it was... at the back where the wires bend to go into the side wall of the fridge. The black wire was completely cut and the brown wire was not far off.

I fixed both wires... added some duct tape for protection in key bending/pinching areas and it's all working now (less than an hour from start to finish). Saved me a $100 CAD wiring harness and several hours of taking the fridge apart. I originally thought is might be the user interface pantry selection circuit bord on the pantry door. Seeing that it costs about $750 CAD, I decided to look at the other options and I'm glad I did.

If it happens again, I'll know where to look and what to do.

Thanks to this form for all the great suggestions. All were on point.

Rob in Montreal, QC, Canada
