My Whirlpool freezer with ice bin in the door quit making ice. There is no water in the ice maker itself and the ejector fingers were down in the mold.
I checked the water inlet valve and it had continuity.
I ran the diagnostics on the optics which said the optics were bad.
Replaced both optics boards, and it blinked back that it was in "harvest" mode.
Jumpered T and H, and ran it until the fingers were about the 10 o'clock position then disconnected. Listened for water to fill, still no water.
Swapped the electrical connectors on the water fill valve and pressed the water dispenser lever on the door. This allowed me to fill the ice maker mold. So if the water valve was bad it wouldn't have filled the tray, right?
Checked after a couple hours and the ice ejector fingers were about 12 o'clock position, the water had frozen, but still no ice in the bin.
Checked again a couple of more hours and the ice ejector fingers were now about 3 o'clock, still no ice in the bin.
This morning still no ice in the bin.
Other than replacing the whole ice maker unit, i'm out of ideas. Any suggestions?
thanks Gerry

I m no expert but you are doing better than I did.... see my post "Still Not Making Ice" ......
http://forum.appliancepartspros...till-not-making-ice.html

. it sounds like the ice maker isn't sensing that the ice is ready to be ejected and then send the signal to open the water valve. ....

Replace Ice maker

Or it could be the control board/mother board. Located on the back side of the frig.
