My Maytag Centennial washer MVWC300VW1 is stopping mid-cycle and won't drain, it makes a buzzing noise for a few seconds when it stops agitating and then stops. If I try to manually advance the dial nothing happens. I can manually drain it by lowering the hose and I've inspected for blockage and there's none. I have also replaced the pump and it's still doing the same thing. I've checked the lid switch for continuity and that appears fine. Any thoughts on what's causing this?

Possible bad timer not putting power for motor rotation in that direction while still running in agitate direction.

Hi,
Not trying to jack your thread but I have the same exact problem as you except I have Maytag Centennial MVMC7ESWW0. I would love to hear more possible causes for this. Sometimes the washer will work fine and other times is will stop mid-cycle right before it drains and spins. jimctec, Would a bad timer cause the brief buzzing noise that washer2017 mentioned?

Same problem here. Maytag Model # MVWC200XW2, and today, the tub fell about 2" down, as if the support or springs went bad
