My upright freezer stopped working. When plugged in, the light on the bottom and inside both work. The compressor isn't running, either is the fan. Does this mean the compressor is bad? When I checked the continuity of the compressor it was fine. If the evaporator fan motor is bad would the compressor stil come on or no? I just don't know which part it could be and if it is worth fixing. I also did the manual defrost timer check and stil nothing happened. I also tried to check continuity on the fan motor but I don't exactly understand how to do that with a digital multimeter.
Thanks!

If no condensor fan or compressor I'd guess it's your defrost timer. There is a post you can turn by hand. It'll only turn one way and probably click while it turns. Turn it slowly and see it the compressor kicks on.
It's near compressor and looks like this:
Frigidaire 297318010 TIMER,DEFROST,115V,TAB - AppliancePartsPros.com

The temp control inside is a possibility as well, sometimes tapping on them or turning it a few times will be a quick test, if that starts it then that is the culprit.
A better test if you don't feel confident with a multimeter is to unplug it, connect the two wires on the control, plug it back in and see it if starts.

If you do use a meter, you're looking for continuity between the 2 wires that are not the ground. Unplug the freezer for this test also. If it is warm and no continuity when the control is turned to max cool that is a bad control.

Frigidaire 216788000 Control-Temperature - AppliancePartsPros.com

It's a simple machine, those are the 2 parts that control it. So either the defrost timer is not coming out of defrost or the temp control isn't asking it to cool because it's unable to make the contact needed.

Good Luck

Hey. This problem is common. As a rule, the masters are advised to replace with a new part or buy a new refrigerator. If you decide to replace the freezer, see the suitable model here https://grapefrost.com/upright-freezers/ You will be satisfied with the quality and price.

Nothing on upright freezer is working. Tried the control knob to see if it would start but it didn’t make the usual clicking sound. Which part would make it just shutdown everything?
