I have a Maytag dryer that is overheating, the heating element never cycles off even in the air only setting. I have replaced the thermal fuse and high limit t-stat, did not help. When I test the heating element for a short/grounded out, with wires disconnected I have no continuity when I touch either terminal to the case. When I test it with the wires connected it has continuity when I touch the terminals to the case. I took the heating element out and it looks good, no sagging wires, no damaged insulators, no wire breaks. What makes the heating element cycle in this machine?

It sounds like a stuck relay on the control board.

Watch the video. At 4:07 you can see the word "heater" on the board next to the big relay. That is probably the one.
