Dryer operates normally for 1-3 minutes and then appears to slow down. Checked belt and it does not appear to be slipping. Heating element is working properly. No unusual noise detected.

First thought
If it is your motor going bad this is an issue to resolve quickly. The motor also runs the fan that in turn moves the proper amount of air preventing the heating element from overheating. Have you noticed a buzzing or humming sound when you first try to start the motor?
Secondly
It may be an issue with the drum rollers and bearings seizing up. Try turning the drum by hand when you see it slow down and then try to turn it prior to starting a load when its cold. This might give an indication of the bearings or support roller seizing up.

Brobiffin, thank you for your response. I have not noticed a buzzing or humming noise. As far as turning the drum is concerned, it does not appear to seize up.

Sorry late reply, just got back from vacation in the smokey mountains... If you haven't done so I recommend replacing the motor. That buzzing / humming sound and then slowing down after a couple minutes seem to indicate a motor gone bad. Here is the part you will need.
