Our Maytag dryer will turn on and we hear a "click" indicating (I think) that the door safety latch has engaged. We hit the start button, but nothing happens. I read online that this is a common problem and it is typically the fuse. A quick check with my multimeter for continuity showed that the thermal fuse was bad. I replaced it with a brand new one (tested it for continuity first to be sure) and I am still getting the same results. I also replaced the thermistor since I was right there...still not getting anything. Any more ideas on what to check?

Check for continuity on the door latch switch.

If it is good check to see if the drum belt is broken as there is a broken belt switch that will prevent the unit from starting as well.
