Hello, I have a kenmore 600 series dryer that the timer won't go past the 30 minute mark. The dryer gets hot but timer stops at 30 minutes. Should I replace the timer or could their be a bigger problem?

If this happens whether you set the timer for only 40 minutes or the maximum time setting then I suspect the plastic gear inside the timer may be bad. Will the timer run a complete cycle in the other settings? Will it complete the cycle if you turn it a bit past thirty minutes manually? Whirlpool WP3976576 Timer - AppliancePartsPros.com

Whirlpool WP3976576 Timer - AppliancePartsPros.com Yes the dryer will complete the cycle but the knob won't go past 30 minutes.
