Okay I need help. I have a kenmore elite he3 washer that turns on both the cold and hot water solenoids when cold/cold water has been selected. Now I'm washing my clothes in hot water. I have replaced the control user interface panel as well as the circuit board assembly in the rear of the machine. I have also replaced the temperature sensor but still have the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brad

Does this happen in rinse cycle as well? Most rinse cycles are cold only. If your getting hot water in rinse as well and have replaced all the control parts, have you turned off the hot water spigot and ran a cold load to verify the cold valve is opening? If so then check the wiring to the solenoids. See if there may be a chaffed wire between the hot and cold wiring.

I have verified wires are okay. I may have received defective parts - they were used. my guess is the issue is with the main control board (rear of machine). the user interface board is displaying cold/cold. is there a way to verify the serial cable is communicating the proper input to the main control board? What other than the main control board would turn on the hot water solenoid when cold has been selected?

Its pretty basic that control board operates everything. So if you turn off the hot water it still fills with cold? If so then I suspect control board. I only buy new or certified rebuilt myself.
