Just started. Top loader. It's about 10 years old. Sounds like ball bearings when we turn it on. Drum doesn't move.
Trying to find out if this may be worth fixing myself, our just sittingl spring for a new one altogether.

Thanks for your help

P.s., Where would I find the model on these?

The model number is under the lid on the back of the frame of the opening.

Can you give us more details along with the model number, for example, does it fill and then have the noise, does it agitate etc.

Thanks.
Looks like the model number is: kaws750lq2.

It fills/drains. Doesn't spin or agitate.

You have the classic symptoms of a broken motor coupling. That's good news, an easy and inexpensive repair. Here is the part

Part number: AP3963893
Part number: AP3963893

and note the video that shows you how to fix it. It will help greatly to have a helper.

Thanks. Another unrelated question. Same washer. This has been going on for a could years. Washer won't always start when the lid is closed. Usually you need to slam the lid pull a"fonzie" (for those of you old enough to know what that means:

Okay, classic symptoms of a bad lid switch. Again, an easy and inexpensive repair, one you can do when you take the cabinet off to fix the coupling.

Thanks.

Is there a specific video I should watch for that, or are they pretty much all the same once the cover is off?

And a link to the part please

Thanks again
