Trying to find out if this may be worth fixing myself, our just sittingl spring for a new one altogether. Thanks for your help P.s., Where would I find the model on these?

Here is the part Part number: AP3963893 and note the video that shows you how to fix it. It will help greatly to have a helper.

Washer won't always start when the lid is closed. Usually you need to slam the lid pull a"fonzie" (for those of you old enough to know what that means:
