Older Maytage dishwasher (probably 20 years old) suddenly stopped running. Door closes tightly but won't start wash cycle unless I manually push in and apply continual pressure to door. Assume its a door latch problem but seeking experienced advice. Do not want to sink cost of service call into such an old machine but door latch assembly is $31 and worthwhile if I can do myself. Appreciate any advice.

RepairKing, Try this first, open the door, in the center of the tub opening, just inside and in front of the door seal, you should find a hex head 5/16 inch screw. use a socket or nut driver and loosen the screw a 1/2 turn or so, then slightly pull out on the latch hook Part number: AP4112973
Part number: AP4112973
then tighten the screw. You may have to make a few adjustments, but you want to be able to close and latch the door, and not have a leak(s) around, or at the bottom of the door.

Joe, that worked like a charm. Thank you so much for the quick and accurate suggestion. First time I've used a forum and the service provided is much appreciated.
