Kenmore 80 series washer agitating but not draining

My washer starts normal, pulls water and agitates. When it comes to drain water before rinse or spin, it makes two click sounds and does not drain and hence does not spin. I am trying to figure out which parts to buy and replace. If lid switch is faulty or pump is faulty or belt is broken, no idea. I have checked and drain works under gravity.
Appreciate experts advice.

Try bypassing the lid switch. Your symptoms are the classic sign of a failed lid switch, and if the machine works when you by pass the lid switch then replacing it will make things right.

Open up the console and you will find a plug that connects the lid switch to the wires from the timer. Disconnect the plug and insert an insulated wire into two holes in the terminal coming from the timer, using the holes that are not connected to a green wire (that is the ground). This will bypass the lid switch and if you put the machine on spin it should spin if the lid switch was the problem.
