My ice maker solenoid has been making a "chattering" noise when filling the tray and the water coming from the fill tube just sputters out. I have replaced the solenoid assembly with a new one and the chattering continues. If I use the wire jumper on the ice maker (L&V), the solenoid pumps water to the ice tray quietly and is a solid stream as it should be. Could this be a problem with the ice maker?

Thank you

A model number would be helpful.
Find your model number - AppliancePartsPros.com

Perhaps try measuring the voltage across the valve.
Should be 120 volts, at least the ones I have seen are 120 volts.

if low you may have a bad connection somewhere or a bad control board.
May even be a problem with the ice maker some of them control the valve directly.
