When I activate the foot pedestal the motor tries to turn until it thermal overload's. After turning the motor with an Allen wrench it runs one cycle and then doesn't work anymore. There appears to be no resistance in the motor or the motor does not seem to be locked up. Could be the reversing switch

Hi.

Based on the information you provided it sounds like the drive motor has a weak start winding and should be replaced. To get to it pull the compactor out, unplug it, put it on the side and remove the bottom plate.

The motor Part number: AP4432455
