Found refrigerator defrosted. Condenser coil covered in dust completely. Fan runs but compressor seems dead. Could it be the overload protector? Can it be checked if it is bad before ordering? Thanks for advice Vashek attached the following image(s):

Hi, Vashek. Unplug the refrigerator, pull the starting components off the compressor and shake it. If it rattles - most likely it's bad. If you have a multimeter you can check compressor winding for continuity. Check continuity between all three compressor's pins and if there is continuity touch one probe to the copper tube and another to any of the compressor's pins. No continuity would means that compressor is good. Replace the relay/overload combo. Here is your part Part number: AP3885081
Just follow the instruction in our repair video. Good luck. Please, keep us posted of the results. Thank you. Simon.

Hello Simon, I think the suggested kit Part number: AP3885081 contains double the parts needed for the repair. The part number I ordered 4387835 (AP3083556) had just the right number of parts. I checked the compressor with an ohm-meter per your instruction, and all 3 pins were shorted and opened against the copper (I assume that proves there's no short of windings to ground?) I installed the components, and started the fridge, and it is working perfectly. Thanks for the tip. I also have a bad dryer, so I may come back for more advice. Best regards.
