Heating element cracked last night. noiticed this morning. dw wont even start up at all. Is this typical when element breaks. I want to order new element but not if there is even more going on.

Here are your parts Parts for Whirlpool GU2400XTPS3 Dishwasher - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the tech sheet. I am assuming that the unit is totally dead (no lights at all). [COLOR="Blue"]Is this typical when element breaks.[/COLOR] No it is not. It may have tripped the circuit breaker. I would not reset this until you disconnect the heating element. Be sure that you tape the connectors so they cannot short to each other or any thing else. Could be it blew the thermal fuse (item 6 in section 2). This you could check with a meter. If this is blown it is important that you use the new wiring harness that comes with the fuse. Could also be that it blew the control board. Note that this may have even happened if the fuse blew. |
